1. "My computer friend tried to fix this and did what you just told me to do and it doesnt work".....Funny that cos when i frickin did it properly it works.

2. People who come in to ask my opinion then tell me I am wrong. You know the kind of smartarse who just wants an arguement on something techinical cos he has no friends to argue it with.

3. Being stopped by customers while OUT OF WORK doing my food shopping to answer questions on PC's. Happens at least 3 times every shopping trip. Yes i really do want to talk to you out of work....Yes i'd love to take up my own time to help with your problem that you probably wont even appreciate.

4.Supposed PC experts telling me I have sold them the wrong part when they either chose it without consultation or they have the right part and have no idea how to install it.

5." I bought this from you and can't get it to do something" Yes you bought it 3 years ago you freeloading piece of scum.

6. Chav scum that raids our bins for faulty or Out of warranty stock. Then try to return it to us for a warranty. Newsflash...you are on camera and no proof of purchase...genius

7.Tv programs that encourage people to haggle - Yes by all means haggle with me, cos i do enjoy it...but don't be bloody rude about it.

Wow..I could go on and on :) Such anger

PC world are funny fuckers
If I go in there and ask for a bit of advice on something, they tell me to bring my laptop in. Err, no thanks. I'm asking them (as they say they provide) information on x hardware. If you ask me, I'll tell you my computer information. Give me a suggestion, not charge me £30 to look at it then tell me what I already know!

Luckily Im not pc world :)I have no problem giving advice just when its AT WORK. People with genuine problems that need help are very welcome :)

It so called experts who want to argue :) Although number 3 sounds wrong...its more to do with people trying to claim warranty :)

I'm making the slightly rash assumption...
..that you work for a PC retailer.
Along with many other people on this board, I work in IT, in my case for a large outsourcing and consultancy firm. I work on their Wintel server support team and my remit covers 20 or so large companies infrastructures.
So I'd consider myself a bit of an authority on all things IT, seeing as I help a lot of our consultants with their technical proposals to our customers.

One thing I never do, however, is look down my nose at staff in PC retail outlets when I go there. Some of these guys are drongoes, but some are smart and have a passion for the kit they sell and know it inside out.

You simply dont know which you're likely to talk be talking to.

And lets be honest, I specialise in Wintel Servers and Networking. My PC desktop knowledge died a death in 2000 when I stopped supporting it. You guys in store will undoubtedly know more than I about what you're selling.

Just because you work in retail doesnt mean you're lowest of the low... everyone has to start somewhere... I certainly did.
