^ ^'tis flat where I live, but used to live somewhere much hillier. If you don't want to be caught in the wind, check the weather forecast before you set off to see which way the wind's blowing. On the home stretch, you'll have the wind blowing in your back.
Got to go hiking in the New Forest a few years back. It's also one of Britain's most scenic train-journeys.
