This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

after perusing scentless_apprentice' post
I was not aware that in England you get time of for muslim religious events if you are muslim, but not christian.

Surely that means our cousins of middle eastern decent should be happy to be scribbling away in school over Christmas - they do not believe in Jesus and all Christmas stands for, so why ge the time off school?

Actually
Jesus is revered by muslims as a prophet second only to Muhammed. So they celebrate Christmas too. I think.

I agree in theory...
...but most of the teachers will be off because they do celebrate Christmas, so the kids would have to sit there and educate themselves. I can imagine PLENTY of work getting done then.

Still, I wouldn't say no to a couple of days off for Ramadan and Yom Kippur.

Religious Days Off
I've always wanted to try this:
1) Declare my religious affiliation as Norse Gods (I've got the 'heritage' for it).
2) Ask for Odin's Day off.
3) After I get it, explain that it's also pronounced "Wotan's Day", "Woden's Day", or Wednesday.
4) Ask for Thor's Day off.
