As a SEO'er, I have an in built hatered for web designers
Not all, there are some wonderful web designers. But some who would quite happily take couple of grand's money to produce overly designy shite that no bugger can use, get like 10 visitors a day from web forums filled with other poncy designers who can toss you off on your great design skillz that only 4% of browsers can support.
Hang yourself. Please.

Bravo, I would also extend this to clients of web designers who don't or wont grasp the idea that it makes no difference how shiny their website is if no bugger ever visits it.
And another thing, it amazes me how many otherwise competent business people get blinkers on when it comes to pointless vanity keywords or ridiculous 15 word long tail phrases that no one other than them has ever typed in to google.

This.
I'm a web designer in my spare time, so it makes sense to get things right the first time, that load quickly, with a nice minimalist design. No need for all that flash bollocks. The main one I'm managing at the moment is only there at the insistence of the client, which is the only thing I wasn't able to talk them out of.
