I was one of they homeless for a whole year in my teens, living in a 20 quid tent which leaked.
It wasn't a barrel of laughs to tell the truth, but it wasn't all bad either though I think 30+ years on it's a bit more rose-tinted than I can really recall.
I met some good people, some great people, some scary people and a few creatures I'm still not sure were people at all.
But having someone talk to you like a real person, even if they give you nothing else is appreciated, I remember that much.

I still like camping.
