This is a question Sleepwalking

A friend of mine once cooked an entire meal for two in her sleep, ate the lot and washed-up before going back to bed.
She has also awoken to find herself naked, on a fire escape in Fulham, confronted by two burly - and not to mention excitable - officers of the Metropolitan Police.

She doesn't even live in Fulham.

Well,
Its not really sleep walking, but i think i must move a hell of a lot in my sleep,
Round at a friends house, i went to sleep at one end of the room, i awoke the next morning half on the stairs.
That was odd.

Aha! My last before we close for the day...
Sometimes I half wake up when I'm dreaming, and you could say that I hallucinate. I must have my eyes open because I see exactly where I am. Although I also see the spiders/prawns.

The first time was at Oban. There was a giant prawn on my pillow, waving it's tentacles at me. I jumped out of bed, WHAM, on go the lights. Only to wake up and realise there could not be a giant prawn on my pillow, and indeed there was not. In my head though, it was not a prawn but a spider. Confused my sister a bit who was watching the whole thing.

Then there was the time in Cyprus. I swear I saw a giant spider (a real one this time, not a prawn) run up my sleeping sister's face. So I jumped out of bed, on go the lights again and I'm told the whole time I was yelling at the top of my voice:

GET OUT OF BED SAM!! GET OOOOUT OF BED!!

I spent the next half hour searching for the imaginary spider with a slighty angry, confused and sleepy sister.

There was the time at my gran's with the humbug spider, the few at home where I realise I'm doing it and just go back to bed, and I'm awaiting the day I do it in bed with my boyfriend (har har!) who I know will punch me in fright if I yell at him when we're both sleeping.

Watch this space for a little bruised Vix0r!

How does this happen
I think its funny that most of the QOTWs turn into a north/south argument.

No matter what the topic is it'll somehow come to this
(, Wed 29 Aug 2007, 21:05, Reply)
ahem...
unsure of why qotw has turned to a geographical debate...

North/south divide? PSHAW!!
There is no north/south divide. It's just the inside of the M25 that is populated by miserable money-grubbing tossers that wouldn't cross the road to SELL you the time of day.

No offence.

To add to the N/S debate...
I'm originally from Guildford (for my sins) but generally live in Nottingham, here in the Midlands.

Does that make me a traitor, someone who sits on the fence, or just someone with a fetish for men in tights?

Yes indeed, b3ta is quite educational.
It wasn't until I started posting here that I knew the meaning of "chav", "scouser", "geordie", "mong", "joey", "slapper" or other delightful British terms...

Hey, you know what's better than your dinky little island? Canada.
Everyone who's been there will agree. You're all rude savages, we're all well-educated and polite.

And neither I nor anybody I know had ever heard of there being a difference between Northern England and Southern England until I started posting on B3ta.
(, Wed 29 Aug 2007, 18:53, Reply)
Ah yes, "the Wah of Northeren Aggession."
I live in Richmond. I swear, in my first year of living here I found out more about the goddam Civil War than I did all through high school.

And never have I so thoroughly hated Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, The Band and the rest of that ilk. I swear, if I ever hear "Freebird" again I'm going to take a special trip out to take a dump on Ronnie Van Zandt's grave...

Ummm *waves hand*
..what about the Midlands?

(runs away and hides)

...this is coming from a Stoke-on-Trent lass who now lives in London. I'm such a traitor...

I'm from Sheffield. We were making penknives when those of you in the south were rolling in your own filth and being buggered by Frenchmen. One of ours invented stainless steel for christ's sake!

Bloody Sassenach Whingeing
Look, either get a room or have a proper civil war this time. Even the Septics managed a better brother vs brother shindig than Cromwell vs King Chaz.

If I may suggest Milton Keynes as a suitable battlefield. I would have nominated Luton but no-one would notice the devastated buildings, deprivation, despair and violent slaughter.
(, Wed 29 Aug 2007, 17:33, Reply)
Ahem, hem
You mean "The Late Unpleasantness" according to my great aunt, not the "Civil War".
(, Wed 29 Aug 2007, 17:28, Reply)
So, any US people want to chime in our our North vs South?
Like maybe how here in Virginia you can't find a decent bakery and the grocery store workers tell you to find stuff in "the foreign food aisle", which is full of canned spaghetti sauce and La Choy?

Or how about that there are still people in this area pissed off over the Civil War, and that they still argue about it 150 years later?

You want North vs South? C'mon over, y'all. I'll show you some things to spin your head clean off.

As everybody knows...
...the line is here.
(, Wed 29 Aug 2007, 17:05, Reply)
Where is the line?
People are happy up north and there's less cunts! FACT

you see, by ending with the word fact - it makes it unargueable (is that a word?) FACT it is now.

so, where is this 'divide'? Being from Leeds, i was told by 'mi fatha' that it was birmingham, now being an adopted geordie, i started getting called a southerner again??? I'm confused.

I know I've mentioned this before, and I know none of you belive me, but it's true.

There's a bloke who walks his dog on the beach where I live who has called his dog "Syndrome"

It's great watching the dog jump up at him and hear him yell ~(altogether now...)

"DOWN SYNDROME!!"

%199 true...

Cheers

A little story...
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, Archangel Michael found him on the seventh day resting. He enquired of God, "Where have you been?" God pointed downwards through the clouds. "Look Michael, look what I've made" said God. Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?" "It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put life on it. I'm going to call it earth and it's going to be a great place of balance."

"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused. God explained, pointing down to different parts of the Earth. "For example, North America will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while South America is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot, and Russia will be a cold spot. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people."

God continued, pointing to the different countries."This one will be extremely hot and arid and while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."The Archangel, impressed by Gods work, then pointed to another area of land and asked, "What's that?" "Ah," said God. "That's the North of England, the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful people, seven Premiership football teams in the North West alone, and many impressive cities; it is the home of the worlds finest artists, musicians, writers, thinkers, explorers and politicians. The people from the North of England are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found travelling the world. They'll be extremely sociable, hard working and high achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as speakers of the truth."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, "What about balance God, you said there will be BALANCE!" God replied very wisely, "Wait till you see the bunch I'm putting down South!!"

Ithankyou

Cap'n Haddock
We don't have whippets here in Birmingham, only knackered greyhounds. The plebs around here are more likely to have 'hard' dogs like Bull Mastiffs and Staffordshire Bull Terriers which have such fluffy names as Fang or Sword.

And yes, my education is shit... I barely scraped either degree.

Isn't there a trawlerman looking for you?

Now let's all grow up!

I said coherent argument.
Saying "It's cheaper oop north" doesnt make the north nicer. You base your argument on supposition, not fact.
This I'm afraid proves that Northern education is lacking along with the rest of the place, since you clearly dont read things before opening your gob and flapping out a load of old cobblers.

Yes, you are an uncultured yob, your use of profanity to try and belittle me proves this.
