So you got a private education......but you're upset that she won't buy you a stick of rock?
Sounds to me that she's made sure you got a good start in life, and then made sure that there's no more freebies.
Sounds like a sensible old lady to me.

Totally agreeShe made it on her own - became rich through building up her business. It sounds nice, but I bet it took a hell of a lot of hard work to do.
The education she paid for is worth much more than a few seaside trinkets.
