This is a question Tightwads

There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

I concur...
... mainly because I am a student and am currently in the process of a drunkening from Sainsbury's Basics Cider and the thought of someone refusing to purchase me a beverage of the same volume frightens me greatly.
We came to the conclusion the other day that Tesco Value both tastes better, and is 1p cheaper than Sainsburys. This also scares me greatly, in that we can actually be arsed to compare such awfully cheap drinks with each other.

It's not so much the volume
I appreciate that a pint in a pub, club or even student union costs more than the same volume of beer from Tesco. I wouldn't expect two pints for two tins. It's more the monetary value and the recognition, especially when everyone is in the same boat skint-wise.
