This is a question Tightwads

There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

thrifty!
working Reading (the festival, not the place or passtime) ment free waterbottles....
that i would then take to the water bottle recycling thus making 20p..

i was pretty impressed with this scam...
by about 4pm i'd be hungry.. i'd genrally have drank maybe 5 waters... where id then go try 'crew discount' the stalls resulting in free food :)
the sweetcorn man was mean tho! he wouldn't do any discount... and was chargeing £2 for a stick of sweetcorn to volenteers! its a ruddy stick of sweetcorn.. its not even a real meal!

I worked Reading
for Oxfam, and they didn't give me any water so in the end security gave me a litre of confiscated Appletiser - far better than 20p!

Crew discount? All you get is 3 vouchers for rubbish food at the tent!

there were several
of such scams that you could do, could you be bothered at reading, such as buying several packs of AA bateries (16 for a pound in poundland) then taking them to the duracell battery exchange and swapping them for brand new batteries worth much much more and simultaniously ruining whatever kind of survey they were doing. You could also do the same with cheap beer, at the cold beer exchange, although it had to be very cheap in the first place as they gave you carling in return (piss water).

10p per cardboard cup at Vfestival this year. So many cheeky feckers running round with huge towers of them.
