This is a question Tightwads

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

My local bus company does the same.
Is it because they don't trust the bus drivers?
Or is it because they set the standard fair at £1:70 (ffs) and expect no one will bother to cash in the 30p change from 2 pound coins?

that's exactly what they're hoping.
there's no other reasonable explanation.
