This is a question Tightwads

There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

Yup
My boss started trying to fine us if we were even a minute late. I'm contracted to 38 hours, and I average 55, none of which I get paid for since I'm salaried.

When they started trying to fine us, I organised my team to do a 'work-to-rule' by which we took a full hour for lunch and turned up and left exactly on time, also kicking up a fuss if any meetings required us to set off early/return late.

Still don't get overtime but she's realised that penalising us for the odd five minute delay due to trains, etc, wasn't smart.
