Think of it like a playground.
Every now and again they target someone and keep at them. A year later, it's forgotten about and the target has moved on to someone else.
If you're being really bothered by it, keep a low profile. Contribute to threads instead of starting them and you won't be accused of trying to draw attention to yourself.
