I noticed how shit it is here.
So I thought I'd make it less shit by pointing out how shit it is.
Also, why do QOTWers keep pointing out that I am not funny. Is it my job to be funny? I never agreed to be responsible for funniness. I'm not sure why they think I should be funny. After all; I'm fat. Let's not forget that. Why are they stalking me and rating my comedacity?
Sometimes it all gets a bit much and I need a good cry.
Men landed on the moon once. Now look at us.

are you so fat that men could land on you by mistake?
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 14:56, archived)
I read a book called Moondust last week about the moon missions.
What I never thought of before was that there were three of them sent up in each Apollo mission, and the best pilot was the one who was left behind on the orbiter while the two less good ones got to walk on the moon. Not only was he left up there, he was alone for days on end, in space, in a tidgy little box. Important lesson there: always be second best, because being the best leaves you alone and not walking on the moon.

ha, this is fine advice

I still love the fact that Buzz pucnhed that conspiracy twat the other year.

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:06, archived)
Not just the other year, it was 2002
Like, nearly a decade ago.

Moondust had an interview with Buzz, and a short interview with the guy who got punched as well. I liked Buzz better. All in all it's an ace book. 17 out of 19, would recommend.

Yeah but they could have got out and their heads could have exploded.
The sound would have been deafening.

In space, no-one can hear your head explode.

I will use that more

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:05, archived)
Apologies Mono, I don't know anything about it

apologies Mono, I don't know anything about it What?
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:09, archived)
Look it up.
It's called "Defiance".
It's going to be both an MMORPG as well as a TV progam, each will affect t'other.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:15, archived)
That sounds shudderingly wank.

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:18, archived)
I thought the idea was a good one, but when it's SyFy doing the series part I'd agree with you.
Trion have proved to be alright at making MMOs
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:20, archived)
Just a bit of a pointless gimmick in my opinion.
I think it's been fairly well established that computer games and tv series/films rarely mix well.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:22, archived)
Some of my mates keep gushing about how good a Left 4 Dead movie would be
As much as I love the game, I am of the opinion that a movie of it would be utterly dreadful.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:24, archived)
Name me ONE film from a computer game that could be classed as good.
There may be one but I can't think.
Resident Evil
Doom
Hitman
Super Mario Brothers
Mortal Kombat
Tomb Raider
Wing Commander

to name but a few FAILS
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:28, archived)
I enjoy Resident Evil films.
And Doom is great for mindless background tv
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:29, archived)
Not great films though, certainly not better than the games.

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:32, archived)
Doom certainly isn't but resident evil were good, at least until the 3rd one I think

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:36, archived)
I wouldn't class them as great films. Not even that good at all.
They weren't as shite as some other films but a lot shitter than many many others.

This is it...and more often than not, the 'official' games movies are terrible too
The Harry Potter games (non-Lego of course) are crap.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:35, archived)
Totally, you can have exceptions but it is rare.

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:25, archived)
I feel it's a fair comment.

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:28, archived)
Yes, but the two have never been done as one before.
Normally it's either a half arsed game of a big film just for the extra money.
Or a half arsed film of a game with a shit budget and no decent actors.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:27, archived)
I just don't think they work well together. We'll see, I may be wrong.

(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:29, archived)
Well It's going to be a FPS MMO
that's going to be cross consoles as well as most of the story being on tv.
It'll be fucking good if it's done right.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:33, archived)
Not that I'm saying I think it will be.
It'll probably flop like most games do.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:34, archived)
I reckon you'll get either a great game and a shite tv series or... you get the idea.
Either way I don't think it will make money.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:35, archived)
I could bet 11p that both will be better than the other shit out there.
And with the added gimmick of being a series and a game I think it might be quite popular, even if it turns out shit like Doctor Who or Battlestar Galactica.
(, Wed 19 Oct 2011, 15:41, archived)
Fine then MONO! bet accepted.

I enjoyed the internet more when Patrick Duffy from Dallas was on it
The whole oil baron persona suited him and the way he translated it to b3ta. I particularly liked the masterly way in which he discussed camshaft profiles for his Mk.3 Ford Escort and compared rust treatments, making sure to always make it relevant to the ladies and men who don't know how to do anything practical.
HE never talked about his 'cool new app' phone
HE never let 15 minutes go by without posting a Youtube link to a jaunty Average White Band tune
HE never discussed the weather and complained about frost
HE never asked about the quatities of antibiotics put in fish farms
AND HE NEVER, BLOODY WELL NEVER, EVER, DID ANYTHING TO INCITE RIOTS IN WESTERN SAMOA

Frankly, you disgust me.
