I thought that.But I'm glad someone else said it for me. I'd also like to point out that we're also living off the plunder of much more recent wars than that, if the anti-war lobby are to be believed; if it really was all for oil, then that's what's paying for social security and the NHS - and the latter saves thousands and thousands of lives every year. It's complicated, this ethics lark.
