I once had that flag explained to me by a South African. It went something like this....
'The black triangle represents the numerous black tribes.
The two white lines are the Boers and the Brits.
The red represents the blood that has been shed between these groups, and the blue is the sky that unites them.
The green is the maize fields that feed them all.'
I thought this was a pretty good explanation until he continued...
'And that yellow line is an electric fence to keep the bleddy blacks out of my bleddy maize field!!'
At which point realised it was a 'joke'.
