# This probably sounds crap in the telling, but it was scary as fuck
This happened while I was pissed, so is of dubious veracity. I hadn't taken any drugs, just consumed a fair amount of wine and champagne.

Anyway, it was the eve of the year 2000, and I had decided that my girlfriend and I were boycotting the millennium celebrations and staying in to watch the telly instead (much to her disappointment). She went upstairs to use the loo just after midnight, and while she was gone I caught sight of my own reflection in the TV.

I thought that my reflection somehow didn't look quite right and had a sudden, inexplicable feeling of paranoia, so I shifted seats on the sofa to try to reassure myself that I was just seeing my own reflection. My reflection in the TV stayed where it had been sitting, and then folded its arms (I was the only person in the room, my house-mates were all still out enjoying themselves). At this point, I started to feel a bit spooked, so I switched off the TV and waved my arm in the air to see if my reflection did the same. It didn't. It got up off the sofa, walked towards the screen (i.e. towards me), knelt down in front of it and grinned at me. Then it waved at me.

Then my girlfriend came back down and saved the day, apparently I was white as a sheet and pointing a shaking finger at the TV screen.

We later found out that my student house had been built on top of an ancient Indian burial ground. Of course, that bit's not true, but the rest of it was.
