» Join us... come join the cult
Religious Oasis Freaks
In highschool, a friend of mine invited me to acompany him to "Young Life," a group of jesus freak kids. He told me there would be cookies, so I agreed to go. We got there, and there were masses of kids everywhere, playing hackey sack and running around. Then it came time to sing songs. Along with some bible songs, they also sang "Wonderwall" by Oasis. I was singing Slayer. I never returned to this cult, but I was stalked by several of the regulars at school for the next 3 years, constantly being asked if I will be attending this week.
Also, there were no cookies.

» Stupid Tourists
Orlando, Florida
I heard a woman tell her children that she had to go to the ATM. When the youngest asked what "ATM" stood for, she responded with "auto-tella-money." And she was completely serious.

» Scars with history
My father has a scar
in the sense that he is blind in one eye. He was 12, and playing with a rusty wire clothes hanger in the attic. Needless to say, all our hangers are plastic.

» People with Stupid Names
My aunt is a teacher in Atlanta, GA. She has a new student this year whos name is Abcde. When his mother was questioned as to the pronunciation, she said "It's pronounced just how its spelled, ab-sid-ee."

» The last thing that made me cry
Crying out of confusion
seems to be the thing for me recently, last evening being the most recent. Forbidden love, typical of soap operas. Hiding our feelings for one another from everyone else, lying to significant others, feeling powerless to find a solution, dreading goodbyes even though we will see each other again. But theres still a sense that it will work out, somehow.
