Sicily - depends what you are looking for
History - it's full of it. For Greek temples (these are arguably the best examples in the world) check the Western part of the island - Agrigento in particular, but also Selinunte. Archimedes was from Syracuse (which is really worth a visit as it has Dionysus' Ear just outside). For Roman stuff try Taormina (theatre) and Piazza Armerina (best Roman mosaics I've ever seen). For more recent stuff, try the West again (Palermo was the capital of Frederick II, probably the most enlightened ruler of the Middle Ages) and of course there is Corleone
Going out - Taormina is ok for clubbing in the summertime, try also Milazzo and the north coast. Palermo has some good places (I haven't been for a couple of years but can ask around if interested)
Avoid - going in the middle of summer (July/August) particularly the middle of the island which can feel like a dustbox; much of the south coast - there is a big Agip refinery in Gela for example. Not that much to see in either Catania or Messina
I've been in April, May and June and the weather was great - warm and dry, without being humid/too hot - and after about this time, most things just turn brown
Don't worry about the Mafia - unless one behaves very foolishly, there is absolutely no reason for them to target you (they aren't going to get the law involved for the very limited rewards most visitors can offer)

Bluetooth - got it on the laptop and phone and think it's great. No cables and it's not line-of sight, so it's flexible. Never had to do any config to get it working with 2000/XP and Nokia/Sony Ericsson other than agreeing to communicate with the other device. You should leave the security switched on though, so that you make an active choice to accept a connection to a new device
