» PE Lessons
On the first week of school
As a bunch of scared little eleven year olds, where everything was bigger than us, we didn't set a foot wrong. Would do out best to get where we were meant to be and try not to get lost on the way. All except one kid, I'd been chatting to him a bit between lessons and the like, but when we got to PE there was no sign of him. In the French lesson afterwards he was suddenly there again.
Now this was the in the time before registers were all computerised and preprinted and stuff. On the first lesson the teacher would ask your names and would fill in the register as he went.
What this eleven year old genius had realised is that if he missed the first PE lesson and every lesson afterwards then they would never know he existed. They would never miss him. And you know what, it bloody worked! In one fell swoop this guy managed to get out of every PE lesson for the next five years.
Im am still in awe that this skinny little eleven year old both thought of such a scam and had the guts to pull it off.

A guy from BAE systems (ie arms dealers) was giving a talk
and he was describing all the defensive products BAE produce to show that they're nice really and save lives rather than just make guns to kill people.
Anyway, do you remember when the army were called out to gatwick to stop bin laden blowing up planes, the daily mail, in their style rpoduced a mock up of a turban clad terrorist firing a rocket launcher at a plane. The guy was using this picture as an example of the sort fo real life incident that BAE could protect people from. I just shouted out 'Shame it wasn't real though'. That shut the bastard up for a bit.
apologies for rambling bollocks

TOC
I used to know a guy known as TOC, to everyone. I never met anyone at all who didnt call him toc. guys in the pub, his girlfriend, he'd only answer to toc.
The reason? In our group of friends there was already a chris when he turned up
(also called chris) so he was known as 'The other chris', or toc.
I had another friend who went by TNT, which was short of 'Trevor not trevor' fro similar reasons.
