Jellyfish
On tour to Malta last year, day trip out on a boat. Beautiful weather, cruising along under blue skies, reach a lagoon where we stop for lunch and go for a swim off the boat. 2 minutes into my swim, gazing at the coral depths and admiring the sea floor, a damn jellyfish comes out of nowhere and stings my left knee visciously. Cue me swallowing mouthfuls of water in my distress, swimming fast towards the boat (where two others had been equally unfortunate and were being patched up), and vowing NEVER to swim in jellyfish-infested waters ever again. It stung SO bad!!

» The last thing that made me cry
My cat, Tinker.
Tinker was my first cat, "adopted" into our house in September. I got so excited when I found out she was having kittens, then when she had them this Monday I was at home on vacation so I didn't see them being born. But what really made me cry was the fact that both cat and kittens have been sent away already because my housemates can't cope and we are only in the house until June anyway...
My poor, helpless little cat and kittens, sent away at 2 days old without me even seeing them *sniff*

The alphabet
Hairy:
I believe its in the order it is (i.e. a, b, c, d) based on the Greek alphabet(alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon...)
The standard Greek alphabet (transliterated) is: a, b, g, d, e, z, e(long) th, i, k, l, m, n, ks, o, p, r, s, t, u, ph, ps, o (long). Other letters are derived from Germanic/Saxon roots I think.

at his house
when his mum was downstairs making tea. both lost our v-plates, but no blood at all, quite amazing, and he was, and still is, a fantastic lover. Even managed to wait until I'd come...how gentlemanly is that? (3 years on and my good catholic parents still don't know... )

one at uni
at uni, we have the weirdest tutor. She's a temp in the Latin department, known as mad rabbit woman for several good reasons. She had a flat near our uni but sold it to buy a plot of land in scotland to grow xmas trees on... so now she lives in a van. no shower or anything, just sleeps in the van at night. also she has a rabbit (originally named bunny) who sleeps in the van with her and who she takes into work... mad enough?
