Me and some of my more geeky friends went to a cross-school tech-a-thon last year. Besides highschool level coding competitions (Java, HTML, VB...all to be coded with no restriction for reference) they had this little thing while scores were being calculated where you need to fill in blanks on this little worksheet. Luckly one of the guys I was with had a laptop and the place had a public wi-fi so we quickly googled everything up.
No doubt we were one of the winners (after being accused of cheating....which we werent, since rules said 'find answers by any means possible') so we got called up to get our gifts......
this piece of #*@$& Microsoft Office branded radio
It only has controls to turn it on, skip to the next station and then rewind to the beginging of the band. If that was still decent set of features on a keychain radio, it refused to pick anything up. I used the carabiner for my keychain and my friends used the headphones as temps somewhere. I still keep it for no reason along with other crap here. I did nick the Java competition booklet with the questions from the place though, and since their problems don't change, I can use it as a study guide for next year...bonus
On the not crappy note I won StarCraft several years ago at a Bar Mitzvah. Dunno where it went, but it's still a kickass game and one of those few I still play(ed) in the spare time.

» Losing Your Virginity
virgin like some others here [long & ranty]
And, yes, i know its a non-virgin post. I am 16, so i think i got a few years before it becomes something embarrassing to mention. I almost would have lost it last year to my (now ex)girlfriend beginning of the school year. Perfect setting too: after school, hot summer day, empty apartment, both of us rather horny, none of my parents were due for a few hours and honestly how long could it last :P. Reason I didn't was part that i felt too young, part that i didn't have a rubber, part that i was scared. Kinda regret it, but even today no rubber means no for me.
But i think it's worth mentioning my friends instead
A few close friends of mine told me about their experiences, kind of odd of me to listen to all of it and still feel like i am ok with not being them, but here are a few:
- My really close mate lost it as his 14th (or was it 15th) b-day present from his cousin. According to him (even tho he likes to put extra 10% of exaggeration on his stories) his cousin came over to pick him up for a lil ride here and there as a present and then called up 2 UKR chicks he knew let his cuz have a good time with one of them. I was kinda pissed that he had the girl as his sex buddy for a while, but you know, w/e.
- My other friend, this time a chick and a goth at that lost it to her current bf (they been going on an off for over a year, hard to watch and understand why they are still together). I am not sure how she lost it but i know i kept hearing every lil detail about their teen sex life for about 6 months. I am still surprised to how she says these things passively. One time she said it really sucked when her mom caught her shagging on the bench in the back yard (and i think all the neighbors got a good view too), another time she said she was surprised that her mom walked in on them (altho they were just lying next to each other) and calmly asked what they wanted for breakfast. Reportedly, she talked on the phone while giving the guy head as well. Eh, she is a goth, i guess its normal. Too bad all the hotness she had depleted as i heard more and more of that stuff.
- This chick i know of recently lost it about a few months ago, a freshie too. She was out with the guy that is dating the goth i just mentioned during one of his and hers lil 1 week break ups. It's kinda sad and sick, he shagged her for a week and then dumped her when the goth called back.
- This guy i don't talk to anymore due to his large Greek ego lost it beginning of the year as well, to his FIRST girl. Not much to say beyond the fact that he showed me the condom wrapper with a smirk on his face one day. It's sad, he is turning into an emo and a sad fsk over his woman, and i could end his life by telling his unsuspecting mom (note: Greek mothers rule with impunity).
- One of my exes lost it to a family friend in a rape situation. She never told me who the fucker is (i guess i would have known him) but she said it was before i was dating her....kinky girl i must say.
- One guy i know, about 19 yrs of age, was going out with one of his peers and then decided her mom was a better shag. Needless to say the mother is about 50-something. When i confronted him about how sick it sounded he said she was an experienced woman....but still, 50?!?!
So yeah, thats people i know. Sorry for spelling errors and such

» Scary Neighbours
I live in an Apartment Building
So that gives me an extra dose of neighboors to deal with. People right above me are right assholes. I think they are an asian couple or something, but they move around SO LOUDLY. Especially at night. It's like they run on their heels around the house at 1 am. On certain occasions they like to fuck loudly right above where I sleep...ugh.
Across the hall, lives this Russian guy with his wife. He is ok, but when you meet him, he will keep on yapping about things. On some occasions he would come by to give us something useless he would dig up places. So far he gave us a seashell, bike tire pump, pizza, bread among other things. Odd fella.

» When I met the parents
Not exactly 1st impressions but..
with both of my last gfs, also ended up meeting very eccentric parents.
2 years back, I had a little summer relationship with one, and ended up meeting her mom 1st (this is right at the end of jr high). I liked the woman, rather nice, and for some reason associated with being an ex-hippie in my mind. She managed to drive us places that summer, different activities, pretty fun for a summer usually spent where I am sitting right now. Weird thing was when one of the girl's friends tagged along and it turned into weird conversations about cleavage and constant poking. Just imagine being a teenage buy surrounded by 3 women doing that and one of them being 40 or so...kinda odd.
But that was nothing compared to her father. Guy was either at work, downstairs in the basement on the pc or from time to time going in and out of the kitchen to get another beer (this was the only one of his modes i had to get my tounge out of the girl's mouth and pretend not to be doing that kind of ungodly business in his house when he is around :)). The girl didn't like her dad much, I usually didn't bother to talk to him, so it was rather good.
Until this one time..
One of the girl's brother's friends managed to fuck up their pc and blamed everything on me (bitch). I was around the place for a few days hearing from others that he as furious and later didn't come there for a month since my girlfriend flatly and dully said 'he will rip your balls off if you come'. So how do I patch that up with a large, American plumber with an obviously short fuse? He had a soft side for....get this...Fiddler on the Roof! So, I had to with a rented DVD, down the stairs to the basement, shaking from fear and waving a mix of incense and cig smoke from my face to apologize and 'casually' give him the DVD I rented. Peace was settled with the terms of 'stay the fuck away from my computer'. Fair nuff, I had better things to do when I was over anyways ;).
With another girl I was kind of amazed that her parents openly scolded her like a kid and put her down when I was around (even when I just got to know them). Then there is this one time that her mom walks in the room to ask us something wearing a long shirt. I learned 5 minutes later, long shirt was the only thing on her at that moment. The girl told me the parents used to walk around the house nude in the summer...i mean..wow. I didn't like either of them much, not to mention her mom managed to call me something rather vulgar over something rather trivial once.
I learn my lessons from relationships like that.
On a vaguely related note, the 1st time I went to one of my female friend's house and up to her room to watch some movie (no nothing happened, i got standards, sorta), she walks into the room at one point going 'oh my mom likes you and thinks you would make a good bf'.
(no, i didn't, not even after that)

» I just don't get it
In reply to Waynster
and how he doesn't get Sienfield. I think it's the same way how I don't get Monty Python. I heard them on the radio and TV, i rented "The Holy Grail". I don't get it. Period. 1st I thought it was too Brit for me, but I love Benny Hill and Mr. Bean (prolly because they don't talk) and not to mention a lot of my friends love them. I simply don't get it, too intellectual maybe.
Another thing I can't understand is what the American youth turned out to be. Yeah, I am 16, I belong in that special group, but I don't get a lot of the people. I don't get what the 'gangsta' hip-hop people are trying to prove. You are poor and you waste money? Minority? Morever I don't people who are usually typecased as emo and goth. Not all of them, but the kind that thrive on people feeling sorry for them and how misunderstood they are and stuff. If you know someone like that, and you are one that sometimes ends up being their parent figure, try being indifferent about it and don't pity them. They might just get pissed. I don't get how a lot of people do that collective emotional bloodsucking off each other. I don't get people that call others posers and yet somehow have plenty to be called poser about (and being a poser is based off those stereotypes that we are told not to do). Things like that, and how people are driven by media today. I don't get it.
