Born 1953, makes me 54 now ( I think... memory isn't what it was)
I'm an Ex- everything...
ex-computer operator; that's when computers were the size of large bungalows. (NCR Elliot, KDF9, IBM360/145 onwards for anyone who cares or even knows what they were).
ex-IT / technical support; when you had to be a Novell nerd or a Unix troll to survive.
ex-Managing Director of an international computer company; guess where I was when dot.com blew up in my face....
ex-husband. Married for 29 years until my lovely wife couldn't face the uncertainty any more hohum...
I was also going to say ex-musician, in that the last time I was paid for being on stage was about 35 years ago. BUT I have kept up with my Bass, Classical guitar and keyboards (as in analogue and digital synths, various computer programmes and a habit of sampling just about anything that makes a noise). I'm kinda into trance and chillout (yes I know, so very passe) and have just made a few tracks for a friends nightclub rooms, so mebbe not so 'ex' after all.
And now; kinda semi-retired; yeah I DID make a little money along the way, enough so that I can get drunk on a far too regular basis and work for myself. sometimes.
so. why am I here?
well, b3ta has been on my 'favourites' list for about 4 years, so I decided that lurkage was not the answer and it's TIME to UNLEASH the HOUNDS!!!
Well possibly not. I've been playing with Gimp for about a month now. B3TAs humour is very much me, so who knows.
