» Have you ever seen a dead body?
Well I thought I had.....for a moment - fun
Walking home from work just two weeks ago when this happened and it freaked me out.
I was waiting to cross the road at a cross roads, a Toyota Land cruiser with ‘Red Cross’ markings was waiting to turn right.
When it did so it pulled away at a fair rate which caused the tailgate to open up and a trolley roll out of the back with a body under a blanket. It crashed onto the road where it’s occupant span off into the gutter narrowly avoiding the cars traveling behind.
I stood there like a twat, thinking now what shall I do and basically feeling quite sick and in the 10 seconds of my indecision realised that the supposed body was in fact a CPR dummy!
Major relief all round, particularly for the drivers of the vehicles behind.
Luckily no one was killed but as a foot note, if you ever get picked up by a Red Cross ambulance make sure they shut the back door properly!

The Great Escape...
Few years ago – The German Club-Adelaide,Australia – 2007
Great place for beer, great German food, lederhosen and leg slapping but enough of the advert on with the story.
I was standing at the bar surrounded by old men all talking German (it was like something out the boys from Brazil) when all of a sudden my phone rings….and my chosen ring tune at the time…why an mp3 of the great escape theme tune. I tried to ignore it but it got louder and louder the back ground noise got quieter and quieter until you could have heard a “Stielhandgranate” drop!
I felt really awkward, they must of thought I was taking the piss but that was not the case just an unfortunate timing situation.
I did what any one else would have done in this difficult situation and answered in the style of the British Airmen from ‘Allo Allo…. OH Hello (no motorcycles available but it would of helped to hasten my exit)
BTW I am not anti German in any way as my wife is indeed half German and as a nation they make great cars and beer…but remember they started…they invaded Poland

» How nerdy are you?
I sickened myself with my automotive nerdyness
And I did this unintentionaly
Recently walking through a car park and ahead in one of the bays was a nice shiny S-Class Mercedes. Now I have a particular interest in Mercs, having had dealings with some nice classic ones and more recent models , anyway as I got closer I heard the familiar sound of a Mercedes diesel engine thrum into life (told you I was a nerd), and I though, oh it’s a diesel, which is quite unusual here in Australia.
But the car did not move and as I got closer I saw that it had not started up and in fact it was some large 4X4, I felt disappointed and relived at the same time that my nerdyness had failed me.
However,
As the 4X4 came towards me I notice it was one of those ugly SsangYong’s and they are powered by a re-engineered Mercedes Diesel engine.....AARRGHHH!!
