# if only
the labour party is about as far from socialism as it's possible to get

the massive bunch of cunts

# ^this^
Hopefully, if/when they lose this time & the Tories fuck the country up even more, Labour will kick out the Thatcherite Blairites & go back to being more left of centre.

# I don't think it is if they lose but when
Cameron could explain his latest policy of killing all the first born sons and he would still be in with a chance

I think you've done something to Gordon, but I can't quite see what it is

# Depends - given the unique way our voting system works
If today's poll (Lab 31, Con 37, Lib 20, Racists & Loonies 12) is true, Labour could actually get the most seats (though not an absolute majority).

# I agree
Labour will almost definately 'lose', but the Tories won't neccessarily 'win'.

At the end of the day (annoying phrase), most people just vote the way they always have anyway.

# Not necessarily
talking to my mum this weekend it seems Labour have lost every vote from three generations of my family - we've all independently (and I mean that because I'd like to meet anyone who could change my grandad's mind) come to the conclusion that this time around we'll be lending our support to the Lib Dems. None of us have ever voted for anyone outside of the Labour party before.

# ^ this
my family have always been middle class Labour, but not after Iraq. I honestly don't understand who would vote for them now.

# yer
Labour's massively lost its way, whereas the Tories will always be the Tories

# You have two choices

a) A centre right government with a right wing back bench and business funding.

b) A centre right government with a left wing back bench and union funding.

# There are at least THREE choices in every constituency
I'm so sick of this "well, the Libs will never win so what's the point" attitude.

People bang on about how great a democracy is, and then fail to take advantage of it.

# Hey, it could be worse,
I live in Jersey, and after the local government here pushed through some very unpopular tax legislation a couple of years ago, in the election that followed, we had a turnout on polling day of about 25%. That's just bloody ridiculous. On the plus side...we don't have party politics over here :)
