# The tape is indeed disturbing; it's got a legitimate curse feeling about it.
When it comes to comparing versions of films, I usually side with the original, but with The Ring, I really don't know. Likewise with The Grudge; both versions are good for different reasons.

# japanese grudge was better for me.
mostly because i could hear the staff chatting away in the room behind the screen most of the way through the us version.

# One thing that bothered me about the American Grudge is
I must have seen about 10 Japanese people in that film, and LOADS of Americans... in TOKYO!

# Weirdly, I though along similar lines for the whole 'Let the Right One In' and 'Let Me In' thing.
I saw the Swedish one first and just thought the Americans would massively nuts it up and make it shit for their version. Turns out it was quite good. Well, I thought the kids acting were excellent, if nothing else.

# Oooh
Reminds me of 'Sporloos' or 'The Vanishing' there's a fucked up slow burner if ever I've seen one.

Pre-ninja: It's French/Dutch not Swiss Swedish, but you just made me think of it anyway. Films in original language anyday for me, up to and including Ju-On/Ringu. Fuck me they have some imagery that lurks in your subconscious for a long time afterwards, unlike hollywood gubbins that you yawn and forget.

# I haven't seen either of those but probably should have.
In my defence, I do wank a lot so, you know...priorities.

# Pfft
It is hard to pay attention to subtitles with double vision. No wonder the Channel 4 triangle thing didn't last long.

# channel 4 triangle?
where tv shows inexplicably disappear?
(, Tue 18 Oct 2011, 0:41, archived)
# No you're thinking of channel 5
(, Tue 18 Oct 2011, 0:43, archived)
# No no, that's not TV shows, that's brain cells.

# But where else would Steven Seagal peddle his wares.
Have you no HUMANISM! Poor Steve. At least let him think people are watching.

# The day he can get through a line without having his failing fat encrusted heart giving him wind, I'll listen.
Also, I noticed that too. Why is it always Seagal films on 5?

# Hahaha
That's a lovely image.
"Steve, we need you to do a forward flip followed by a roundhouse kick"
"Ok, can you pull my finger first" *cough* *cough* *wheeze*
"Fuck it where's the stunt double?"
(, Tue 18 Oct 2011, 0:58, archived)
# I'm almost certain he has stunt doubles just for walking now.
