It could be a rhetorical Jim, like in Werewolves of London
where the lyrics go "you'd better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out, Jim", or Sweet Jane with "Riding in a Stutz Bearcat, Jim". I don't think those lines are actually addressed to any real Jims at all.
