ta!I agree we shouldn't re-number anyone, just skip 12 and have Capaldi as 13. John Hurt was the 12th actor to play a specific and unique incarnation of the Doctor, just shown out of order.
Matt Smith's Doctor specifically referred to himself as 11 a few times (before the re-evaluation of John Hurt) so it should be senseless to go back and re-number even from a crazed fan perspective.

No, he's pointing out that it's an appallingly rewritten tv show and that we don't all know who he means by 9, 10, 11 etc
