just put your engines to full forward thrust and head straight for them... they will then think there is a problem, and turn it off.

mind you, you need to practice your highspeed reverse thrust hard port turn as well, or things might get a little messy......

more of a "Trekker" myself but actually no, just a general sci-fi nut and all round space cadet captain :-)

edit:

yes "they" as there are more than two of them. It takes 3 crew members to fly, 4 to operate teh engines, 2 to work the tractor beam and one cat.
