i played with last night and gave up after a while. only the 45 insert worked, but it's the one i most wanted to turn out, so i'm happy.

so they required inserts to fit on the turntable's spindle. some had built-in plastic fitters, some just had small holes, but most had large holes to speed up production. so, inserts (plastic and metal) were made and sold. i have hundreds of the stupid things.
