On a sidenote,
Aren't we protected from the DMCA by laws governing parody? My guess is there's a thin like inbetween parody and libel, though.

The Parody thing is US specific I believe.
That said, B3tards is US hosted.

DMCA is American isn't it?
Then again, IIRC, the servers are in America?

tricky one as there's
parody and theres people who wave pitchforks and torches shouting "burn him/her he/she's a witch etc" around these parts

I'd hope we're protected from the DCMA
by virtue of not being in the USA

You'd think so, wouldn't you
That doesn't seem to stop 'em usually.
Even said, I think parody use is in english law too

Nope.

Rob can't really suffer as long as he continues to take reasonable steps to prevent us taking the piss, which involves asking in the FAQs and telling us on the board really.
The hosting of the images could be sued, but again reasonable measures to stop us would be enough.
I think he stands no chance and it's daft because he's just making himself a target.
I also disagree that anyone would be overly hurt by these images, certainly the hippy riding a badger bandwagon was as offensive and I enjoyed it.

It doesn't make sense to make enemies with the internets in these days
if I ever become famous i'll just shop pictures of myself being chased by badgers or something

I like this bit
"We also ask our members to avoid photoshoping Prince" as if it might happen by accident...
"I'll just photoshop this kitten... ah fuck, it's turned out as Prince with a coconut sticking out of his arse... Bastard."

bollocks!
"I don't think the people who posted them would like to be on receiving end of that kind of treatment.
"There's poking fun and there's poking fun and people are clearly taking it too far and crossing over the boundaries of what is acceptable."
THIS IS B3ta!

Been suggested
Rob used his veto, wants to move on. Can't say I'm shocked. Still shouldn't have apologised, or really took the piss!
