I travel down to London about twice a month for meetings etc and the train journey is the best bit because you can sit there reading a paper, doing sod all for three and a half hours whilst getting paid for it to boot.
Put your laptop away and chill out for gawds sake, look at the scenery, have a nap, just don't pretend that the carriage is your own personal chuffing office space. GRRRRRRR.

ask me to fucking swap seats so you can use the fucking plug socket that's next to my seat or I will forcibly insert your laptop into your eye. That's right, your freaking eye.

I like talking loudly with colleagues on the train. It amuses commuters.

unless you are talking about cattle class in which case if the people you are complaining about were of any importance to their company they would not be sat there.

I much prefer being in with the plebs anyway as inevitably someone will challenge me for my seat and I'll be able to unleash unholy fury on their asses. ;)

if they were that important they'd be in 1st/business and getting plied with wine/coffee/tea and well, not actually using the laptop unless it's to compare the quality of the porn they have with the other 1st/business class folks :)

due to the fact I like to drink and ride. I always sit in first because I can so why not? I never do any work because i think that working on the train smacks of poor planning ( and who the fuck wants partition walls in first class anyway? ). I tend to make sure I have a few films or TV episodes on an SD card and get out my XDA ( never the laptop ) then catch up on that with a bottle of wine. The phone on the xda is always off on the train. ( but email and msn is on for the wife to jabber at me as usual )

unfortunately some folk really are only complete if they think people want to be them :)

Sometimes I use a laptop on a train. Sometimes it's the only time I can actually get free to run a bastard program that takes ten hours to reprogram, twenty hours to debug, all while people are demanding attention.
Then again, I'm not making pie charts.

This would explain a lot. I'll be nice to it in the future. I'll even download some robot porn for it to watch when I close the lid.
