It'd turn Doctor Who into a farcical comedy. Bailey can't do serious (which I'm quite glad for, as he's hilarious). There'd be no gravity to anything, and it'd be ruined.

Right. Tennant, Eccleston, Baker, Baker, Mccoy, Hartnel, Troughton and Pertwee especially are/were all very gifted at acting with a bit of gravity
It's something that really hurt Davidson's popularity in the role, (the FAINTING.) and has basically been proven an essential part of playing the doctor.
