# *collides*
Woo!

# This would look good on a T-shirt.
Talking of T-shirts. I ordered four from the States a few days ago ($87). How likely is it that I'll have to pay duty/taxes on them when they arrive?
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:37, archived)
# ask the company who posted them
maybe they posted them as "gifts" and you'll be lucky?
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:38, archived)
# Their site said something along the lines of:
"We're not responsible, we don't care, look it up yourselves."
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:40, archived)
# you will be paying duty
ven if it was a gift..nto sure what the exchange rate is currently but with a gift if the value is over £36 you pay duty. I think any way.

# I think the limit is meant to be something like 30-40 quid.
I used to order bunches of CDs from the US and occasionally they'd sting me. You might get lucky.
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:39, archived)
# I've never had to pay before, but I've never spent this much before.
I hope I won't have to bother.
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:41, archived)
# It is quite annoying.
But it seems to be largely pot luck as to whether they bother.
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:42, archived)
# True
I once got stung quite a lot for just one CD and yet much bigger and more expensive parcels have just slipped through.
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:48, archived)
# you will have to pay
20 quid ish
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:45, archived)
# Hmm.
Even with that it's still probably cheaper than buying them here. And they're damn cool shirts.

www.designbyhumans.com, if anyone's interested.

Edit: *eats last Ferrero Rocher*. Mmm. Best £1.05 I've spent in a while.

# i've put

on my christmas list

# I sort of like their stuff, but I think T-shirts are much nicer when the design covers more of them.

# Like that, except slightly less gay?
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 22:14, archived)
# I think that's a bit high
I bought a Popcorn Hour NMT for $224 inc postage (£120) and paid £33 in duty etc. Parcel force the robbing cunts will charge more.
I would guess about a tenner, I hope it's not too much I've just bought 4 t-shirts from the states as well.
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 22:04, archived)
# Buying stuff from the States tends to vary.
You usually get away with it if it's one item, you might get stung for four though.
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 23:02, archived)
# Just been going through my gazzes and noticed you were down as a maybe for the bash
...I don't suppose there's any advance on that?
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:40, archived)
# Sorry, I can't make it :(
I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment.
Maybe next time :D
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:47, archived)
# Okay, I'll cross all appropriate parts for next time!

I tell you what guys, looking at this growing list of people who have had to back out or can;t make it- we'd be pretty buggered if everyone actually turned up one year!!!
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 21:59, archived)
# It's the "two thirds" rule.
60 sign up...40 turn up...
30 sign up...20 turn up etc
I'd do mre examples but maths ecapes me!!
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 22:09, archived)
# So there's 6 of us signed up for Sheffield so far then...
(, Thu 2 Oct 2008, 22:12, archived)
# You only need worry when only 3 sign up!!
