Ha! True dat!
I saw Simon Kirke from Free and Bad Company a couple of years back. He was brilliant! But what made it even greater, was that he was supported by Freeway, the official Free tribute act. They are fucking immense!
I also neglect to mention that Larry Oakes, of Foreigner fame, was playing guitar with Kirke too.

at least you get it, then i know it's ok and i'm not being too much of a obscure/unfunny/muso wanker.

Paul Roger (of Free fame) took the lead position in Queen.
I hear he actually wasn't that bad.

I doubt Paul Rodgers could be bad if he tried.
But Queen are over-rated wank.

Queen, post Freddie, are shit
Most other Queen is good except the songs that get played. to. death!

I dunno.
I sometimes hear a bit of Queen and think, you know, this is quite good, but most of the time I just think it is pretty standard rock pop fayre.

Nowt wrong with a bit of standard rock pop
But Freddie really was the heart of the song. Others just don't seem to get the depth of feeling into the singing of it.

I can see why you think that.
In reality though it's actually only sounds like that as so many people have tried to sound like Queen.

ah you see
'overrated' is not a criticism you can level at the band itself

I think you had to be there to appreciate it.
And the very fact that you've probably had to hear peaple that were witter on about it has made it overrated.

Well I doubt it,
as most of the music I listen to is from before 1979. It is simply my opinion of course, but they just never did anything for me in a major way. I'd much rather sit down and listen to The Beach Boys or Led Zeppelin :D
