This is a normal post I don't see why some shows shouldn't be allowed to run at a loss if the quality is so enough
especially when there's cheap crap like Gogglebox there to fund it

I can't imagine repeats of things like Strictly get many viewers, in the same way X-Factor contestant's careers soon crash-and-burn after the series has finished. They probably also don't export very well.

Cult TV (which I assume Utopia was going for) will continue to find audiences on DVD or streaming.

This is a normal post Reckon a lot of programming nowadays is made for non-broadcast viewing, the one time it's shown on TV serves as an advert for buying it later
Sales then continue through word of mouth and reviews
