it appears that a fair number of them take one normal photograph, and erm sort of vector-ise it using some ninja plug-in. And then do a bit of post-production polishing up. So not quite as jaw dropping as at first appears. But still sort of interesting in a "how far has technology progressed in leaps and in bounds" kind of way. Shame the technology appears to be wasted on fan-wank reproductions of celebrity publicity shots, rather than anything more interesting.

that you can create literally anything you want. Obviously it will look realistic, but believable? thats up to the viewer.
