This is a link post Drive-In Movie Snack Bar Hell!
I don't know if Drive-In Movies were much of a thing in the UK, but they were a major part of "Merikin Culture" in the mid 20th Century. Part of the ritual was to go to the Snack Bar just before the movie started - they would show some animated bits on screen to encourage such behavior.

Someone has taken this history to a new and strange level...
