'Starting today, new channels will need to have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time within the past 12 months to be eligible for ads. We will begin enforcing these new requirements for existing channels in YPP beginning February 20th, 2018.'

This is a normal post Can't be bothered to read through all the google crap
Is this really the case or will they still put ads on videos with copyright songs like they currently do, or will they just block these videos? I currently just stick any old music I like and have google chuck an ad on if they find it to be a copyright infringement, are all my videos going to get canned?

Just means that you have to be pretty popular before adverts are displayed next to your videos. Suits me fine, and my 2 or 3 subscribers.

This is a normal post I think it only applies to YouTube Partner channels
and shouldn't affect your videos as you don't share the ad revenue.
