getting stumpy mcstumpface scanned for the new stump socket
I made this!
I was hoping that my visit to the limb center to get scanned would entail a machine with whizzy round bbits and beeping lights and a machine that goes "ping"
instead i had a really nice bloke use a hand scanner on my leg to build a 3d surface model for the socket to moulded over

i get my first fitting of it on 3rd aug
but will only be allowed to keep it on for a few mins as my stump will need time for the scar to get used to being locked away in its own private basement

the little round sticker is to mark the end point
for the modeling software
the others are sitted on boney protrusions and tell the software to allow x amount of space to allow for the lack of muscle under the skin.
No map pins have been harmed in this process and all map pins have been safly released back into the wilds of Staples

weirdley enough i was told by the tech bod
to take my shrinker stocking of and to put on what looked like a leg from from a pair of tights.
reason being the mesh of the shrinker would give false surface reflections due to the density of the weave, however my bare but hairy leg would confuse the scan head and so it was on with the tight leg to get the best return for the highest resoloution for the 3d model.
