This is a question Clubs, gangs, and societies

Munsta asks: What groups or clubs have you been a part of? Are you part of a secret underground movement with aims to bring down the government, are you part of a yiffing cult, or do you get together with friends in an evening for a drunken game of soggy biscuit?

the guild
as a young girl, i would go every friday night to the guild of st. agnes, the local catholic girl's club. despite many of us not being catholic, we were still allowed in. we'd play games, paint, draw, eat sweets and biscuits and have a raffle. sometimes, in the summer, we'd go to the beach and play rounders. compared to the entertainments on offer nowadays, i know it all sounds a bit crap, but we had great fun.
well, except for the last 5 minutes of the evening, when we had to stand in a line and recite the prayer to st. agnes.
being the good and highly religious girl i was, i hid in the bogs every week to avoid the prayer.
good times, good times.

Far out, that has jogged an ancient memory...
I now remember attending a similar church sponsered youth goup when I was very young. We played indoor netball, badminton, cards, and everyone brought along a plate of hot food that our Mums had made and we sat down and shared it all around. I was nice innocent fun at that age when you were too old to stay at home on a Friday night, but far too young to go out on the town.

I remember being a little ashamed of my Mum's "poverty" home cooking compared to everyone else's fancy "brought" food, but one memory that sticks with me is one of the older kids really enjoying Mum's home made sausage rolls, cleaning up the lot and telling me how nice they were... made me feel good, not like the "poor cousin".

You're right, it was good times.

Our Father who farts in heaven ...

ahahahahaha
that would have been so much better! it actually went thusly:
o blessed st. agnes, whose soul was on fire with holy love
will you ask god to make our hearts pure, humble and full of holy love for him, as yours was
help me please to think of him always, in all that i do, amen.

seriously dreary shit.
