This is a question My Biggest Disappointment

Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."

Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.

What's disappointed you lot?

Signs
The M Night Shyalamanamanamana film.....

Sixth sense I thought was brill, didn't twig he was dead at all... scared the living piss out of me...

But this!!!!

An alien race invades, with all the obvious connotations of the vastly superior technology and their ability to completely devastate the human race, and how does Joaquin Phoenix defeat this malevolent and unstoppable foe? Ah yes, he twats him with a stick.

Bloody sack of Arse.

the village, what an abomination of a film

I agree
Sixth sense was excellent - real "aah, now it all makes sense" kind of thing. Signs - utter pish. Beings who can travel through space can't stand water? Eh? All that technology, but no waterproof macs?

Ever been hit by one?
From age 5, straight on through college, I played Baseball. I was a Catcher. The poor bastard that has to wear all the protective gear because he stands directly behind the batter (well, that and the odd out of control pitch). I got twatted a couple of times by a baseball bat as I moved my glove hand in for an 'inside pitch' and let me tell you: I dont know about alien physiology, but DAMN if that doesnt hurt for DAYS!

Plus, when a ground ball is hit, the batter will sometimes chuck the bat down as he attempts to leg it to first base and if they throw it just right, it will bounce off the plate and careen up into the catcher. ALSO not fun.

But the film WAS absolute CRAP!

"Swing away!"

mrs spimf and i
had barely sat down in the cinema for 6th sense when we turned and went - so heas dead then.

the amount of braying imbeciles blurting out OMG hes dead at the end of this tripe staggered us both

the village - took about 15 mins to twig

please remember

made for americans, by americans

Signs - poor mans war of the worlds - aliens defeated by the common aspects of dwelling on earth. tin foil hats were funny though

Water, not sticks
Wasn't it water that hurt them?

Silly aliens. They'd made all that effort to draw up planetary invasion plans, trained an elite force to make an early incursion onto foreign soil, built a fleet of spaceships. And what had they missed.......?

They'd only gone and chosen a planet that is 2/3rds water!

Doh!

While we're talking about M Night Shyalamanamanamanam
I thought Unbreakable was cool. Really enjoyed it.

Anyone seen his new one, The Happening? I'm debating going to see it...

Yes, it was water.
That movie has plot holes big enough to drive a Winnebago through with sufficient room left over for Bono's ego.

Had it been me, I would have made ethanol the thing that killed them- then had Gibson's character leave half-finished glasses of whiskey everywhere, as well as partial bottles. After all, it doesn't piss down ethanol from the sky, nor is there ethanol vapor floating through the atmosphere. Then they could have kept Gibson's alcoholism and had a nice dramatic way of showing him beating the addiction as his brother went all to water with his stick...

Gah.

Bought unbreakable on the strength of the sixth sense
absolutely donkeys ago during an "umpteen films for £20" thing. Still haven't got round to watching it though.

poo
I think it's just genious how they're allergic or something to water, but came to conquer a planet that is like, 10 million percent water.

How did they manage to travel the vastness of space when they're complete mongs?!
