This is a question DIY Surgery

Majoringram tells us: I once had a wart on my hand and went to the doc to get it frozen. It hurt, lots. Instead of having to go back for more, I got my trusty rambo knife and cut the thing off. Three years later, and not even a scar!

The cure for ingrown/ingrowing toenails
This worked for me on several occaisions. Force a small amount of cotton wool under the corner of the toenail, as hard as you possibly can. It will be painful. Leave it there, and the next day rinse and repeat. It eventually forces the offending shard away from the nailbed without the need for surgery. Joy!

it does work really well,
I have done it a few times but you have to remove the cotton wool, wash your toe well and dry it off completely every day or you could get an infection.

another good trick is to cut a "V" out of the middle of the nail
you'll snag it on everything, but as it grows, it'll grow sideways to fill the gap and away from the bit that really fucking hurts

i'm going to give this it's own answer, but really, go to the fucking doctor.
it's free, they use anaesthetic, and you don't end up with what i'm about to post
