This is a question Expensive Weekends

Chthonic says he's still reeling from a trip to a wedding that cost him nearly £600; while a friend of ours hazily presented his credit card to the bar staff in a shady club in the Baltic states. You know how that one ended.

I've just booked half a week in not-exactly-cheap Geneva
which is already looking doomed, what with the dust cloud situation.

They keep doing cheap flights
And I've been told I'd quite like the place. If you make it there and back in one piece let me know what you make of it ;)

The reallly cheap flights are for the winter sports season
and the best we could do was £311 each return.

Instead I've gone for a 'tailored break' which will cost £606 for return flights, 3 days' car hire and 3 nights B&B for two.

Stay tuned!

I forget.
Is the currency still dead-Jew's-gold-teeth or do they accept other forms of payment nowadays?

Ah, they've moved on then...
I'm only jealous really -- I'd like to visit the place myself some day.

My son is about to start work at CERN
so I'll be over there as often as they'll let me in!
