This is a question Stuff I've found

Freddy Woo writes, "My non-prostitute-killing, lorry driving uncle once came home with a wedding cake. Found it in a layby, scoffed the lot over several weeks."

What's the best thing you've found?

My excuse: I only get paid minimum wage
I work as a cleaner at the offices of a British airline. The rules say anything we find in the bins is ours, should we want it. Yes, I feel like a complete tramp for looking in bins, but people throw away perfectly good stuff, and it's a shame to waste it.

The usual suspects are mouse mats, pens and other stationary. There's also a tonne of small change (I've collected over £50 by now), USB pen drives (they really should format them), watches, clocks and even champagne.

My greatest find was a HP PDA (and charger) with a flat battery. Yep, they threw it away because they couldn't be arsed to charge it up. Now I can organise all the appointments I don't have!

Of course, the down side is I often find shit smeared over toilet walls. Lots of shit. As a cleaner, I often get looked at like I'm scum, but I know what these people really get up to.

My worst find so far: A used condom.

so
you've never found a dead body in the toilets?

Seriously?
It makes me wonder what happens to seeminly ordinary people in the bathroom that causes them to poop all over walls, floors and generally do things like smearing it all over. Do some people gain pleasure or achievement out of this?

p.s. is it worse in the ladies or the gents?

Sorry ladies
So far, I'm afraid the ladies appear to be the worst offenders.

The men do have a habit of wiping bogeys on the wall in front of the urinal and pissing on the floor, but there are far more horrors in the female toilets. Their toilets are often unflushed, and I've had shit spread on the seats, walls and even the hand towels. Not just a small streak either, we're talking a full log's worth.

Last week celebrated their period by smearing the walls and floor with blood from their tampon. Which they left on top of the bin as a gift. Nice.

wtf??
'the down side is I often find shit smeared over toilet walls' - I've seen this too - now I'm an IT contractor working for some pretty big names (at a pretty low level, I hasten to add - I like to think I strike a nice balance between a half decent paycheck and no real responsibility) and this goes on in these places as well. now these people must be reasonably intelligent at the very least, so whats with doing filthy dirty things like this?? the durty feckers. I bet they dont do it at home, so why feel the need to do it at work?

Anonymity?

Yeah, but also an utterly breathtaking disregard for others.

I don't understand why people do stupid inconsiderate things along the lines of the original post.

Most people wouldn't vandalise their own home, or their friends' homes; so what the bluddering fuck gives them license to do it at work or in public facilities?

You said it bud
"an utterly breathtaking disregard for others"

Mindless, selfish cunts. The lot of 'em.

I too work in an office and about 3 months ago a fully formed poo was found on the floor a couple of feet from the cubicle in the mens loos... completely random!

Other one was someone had flushed something down the womens loos on the 3rd floor which caused the loos on the 1st floor (where I work) to overflow into the corridor - I bet that didn't come out without a fight!

H5550
It's an iPAQ H5550 if I'm not mistaken. Not the most modern, but it has wi-fi so I can look important at coffee shops and train stations.
