This is a question Irrational Hatred

People who say "less" when they mean "fewer" ought to be turned into soup, the soup fed to baboons and the baboons fired into an active volcano. What has you grinding your teeth with rage, and why?

I've never heard this used wrongly.

Neither have I
But I've seen it loads of times.

The two meanings sound different, see. One sounds like "breth" and the other sounds like "breeeeeeth". It's when they're written down that the trouble starts, because the ignorant fuckers don't know the two words are spelled differently.

Loose/Lose is even worse, because "loose" has a short vowel sound but is spelled with a diphthong, while "lose" has a long one but is spelled with a single vowel.
