This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

Once in Royal David's City
I used to be in the church choir. I never got bummed by a priest though - I was church of england so it was the vicar.

Anyway when I was about 12 I was selected to sing a solo on Christmas evening in Guildford cathedral - Once in Royal David's City. The place was pretty packed.

I started OK, bathed in candlelight, my young voice cutting through the emotional atmosphere. I must have looked quite angelic. But there's a bit halfway through where it goes quite high "Mary was, that mother mild.."

Instead of singing "Mary" I kind of shrieked it, and promptly puked down my cassock. I then did the manly thing and cried for the next hour and a half.

"I thought you did very well", my mum said.

TWELVE!! FFS people that age are fighting wars in the congo.

don't worry
the acoustics in there are dreadful. I reckon a large number of people won't really have heard you.
