This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

B3ta is not nerdy
and I know this because I spent five years of my life on a folk music forum. Actually, I still drop by there from time to time. I met them in real life n'everything. Some of them became good friends. Some of them were... odd.

Now history repeats itself as history is wont to do and I attended my first b3ta bash last night. (All of them were lovely and none of them were... odd.)

Just five years?
I've spent 30 years of mine playing traditional music. Problem is the average punter at my gigs is 60+ years of age! The musicians tend to be younger though, and most of them are decent, normal people.

Just like me.

Oh, wait...

Not odd..?
I take great exception to that (as I was the odd one out by not wearing a red carnation - however, I was sporting a fetching sparkly red waistcoat, so...)
