This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

Ultimate nerd factor?
I stumbled on this website (no, honestly I did) some time ago. It's essentially a history of every Dalek prop ever built, which bits of which casing ended up in which shows and how you can identify them because of significant little dents / breakages / misalignment of 'balls'.. (quiet at the back, or you'll get detention).

Now, I am a self confessed Dalek nut, but, if I ever have this amount of time on my hands, please point a gun at me and force me to get a life - go to the pub, gym, even lock myself in the bathroom and masturbate furiously.

Don't say I didn't warn you...

awww...they even have a page called "where are they now"
misalignment of balls will sometimes lead to little dents

correct alignment of balls will lead to little Daleks

jeez...I'm making naughty jokes about props now

Yesterday....
....I introduced Fathter Jr to Genesis Of The Daleks, from 1975. (He's 6.) He loved it. Half way through I said to Mrs Fathter, "You know what would look good in that corner of the lounge?"

She replied "You're not getting a full size Dalek." Sigh.

dkintheuk,
I'm intruiged - what has led you to that conclusion?

I'd be the first to admit that I've spent way too much time on the site in question in the past. But at least I didn't research the bloody thing. (Although, sadly, I can usually tell where movie Daleks have been modified and used in the classic TV series due to the misaligned balls). *Sigh*

Fully licensed, legit full size replica Daleks
and a Tardis, or Cybermen helmets (plural, different models)

www.thisplanetearth.co.uk/index.html

From £1900 to £2.5K each for the Daleks, there's a half dozen or so variants..old, new, movie, Genesis, 80s TV ones, even the Special Weapons one....where would you put them? Quite fancy a Tardis for the back garden though.
