This is a question Old stuff I still know

Our Ginger Fuhrer says that he could still code up a simple game idea in Amstrad Basic, while I'm your man if you ever need to rebuild the suspension on an Austin Allegro (1750 Equipe version). This stuff doesn't leave your mind - tell us about obsolete talents you still have.

I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God,
To serve the Queen,
Help other people,
And keep the Brownie guide Law.

I also know the Lord's Prayer, in the old school style.
If you are of a similar vintage then I expect you do too.
That is because it used to be law to learn it in primary school. So I don't know the seven times table but I do know the Lord's Prayer, thanks 1970s education system.

Surely it would have been pater noster if you were learning it in the 1070s?

Well this is true
I really should learn to turn the light on before I start typing shouldn't I!

I shall go and edit it right now.

Anyways, what have lifts got to do with anything?

As a brown owl
Not old stuff, we still say it each week! Good to know someone remembered it by rote once they left their pack and grew into surly teens and beyond. :)

yup
i read the first two words and the rest just tumbled from my lips. Also the poems for the individual sixes:

here you see the laughing gnomes
helping mothers in their homes

We're the ever helpful imps
quick and quiet as any shrimps

and the worst one:
Here you see the scottish kelpies
quiet and quick and ready helpers

Almost 30 years later
Reading this made me realise I can still remember my Cub Scout and Scout Promise and Laws.

I'll have to ring my brothers to see if they still remember.
