Money-saving tips
I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

Two words
Poundland & Wilkinson. In Luton, conveniently located next door to each other and the nearest shops to where I park. Only go to Wilkinson if you can't find it in Poundland.

Luton does not have much to recommend it
but I was most pleased when (a) Wilkinson moved from the furthest end of the mall to the nearest end and (b) Poundland opened next door. e.g. iPhone headset with mike (some soldering required) £1.

Particularly since
there is a Maplin at the other end of the mall. All the shops you ever need in one place.

There's also a selection of ethnic foodstalls, right outside,
and a respectable bus service.
The real clincher, though, is the way that the Luton Mall appears to be devoid of fat, ugly people. Granted, it's probably because 70 - 80% of the patrons are wearing burqas, but it's a policy I'd happily see applied to other town centres.
Are you reading this, people of Britain? You're all fat and ugly.

The T J Hughes in Redditch closed down to make way for it. That's how bad the recession's got!
